We want to encourage you to make comments on the planning documents that we have published for consultation.
Comments
If you do make comments to us, they will be made public so that everybody can read them. We will do this by publishing all comments on the Council’s Internet website, as well as making paper versions available at First Points and library branches.
Contact details
We will not publish your signature or personal contact details (such as email or postal address) on the Internet, because of the risk of identity theft. However, your name (and contact details of a relevant organisation) will be published alongside the comments that you have made.
The Contacts List
We hold contact details of a list of people and organisations who have either asked to be consulted on the Sheffield Development Framework (SDF) or have given us their comments on an SDF document, as well as organisations that we must consult when preparing plans.
Use of the Contacts List
We will use the Contact List for a number of purposes connected with the SDF, including:
- To alert people to a new consultation event e.g. publication of a draft document
- To seek people’s views on a consultation document
- To seek clarification of comments made by a contact
- To notify people of important stages in the process of preparing the SDF
- To notify people of the adoption of an SDF document
The City Council will use one or more methods (e.g. letter, email) to communicate with people on the contacts list.
Adding and updating contact details
Any person can ask to be included on the contacts list. The list contains name and postal address (both of these items are mandatory) and where available email address and telephone number (these two items are optional).
You can add or update your contact details yourself through Online Consultation at www.sheffield.gov.uk/sdfconsult or by contacting the Forward and Area Planning Team on 0114 273 4212 or by email to sdf@sheffield.gov.uk
Written representations
We prefer it if comments on planning documents are given to us through Online Consultation, because this saves a lot of time and work. However, we will accept comments that are sent to us by email or letter, provided that the name and postal address of the sender is supplied. Contact details of people who write to or email us will be added to the Contacts List as described above. Comments received in letters and emails will be made available to the public in the same way as those received through Online Consultation (see ‘Comments’ above). Original copies of correspondence are available for the public to read by appointment at the Council Offices (Howden House). To view original copies, please telephone 0114 273 4212 to make an appointment.
